For this week we made a model of our final design. We used a premade box to house our components and instead of using breadboards, as in our original design, we used cardboard bridges to hold the LED’s. We used a diffractive material to create a glow of light from the LED’s and cut holes into the material to allow the sensor to sense movement. At first we used white LED’s but after testing them underneath the materials we found that they weren’t bright enough to show off our design and so we added in red lights instead. However, these proved to need a more diffractive material than we had. In our final design we will not be housing the arduino within the box but behind a mounting board. this way the arduino can be used on multiple light boxes. We used the code from last week but for our final design we will need to change it so that we can get the RGB LED’s to change colour instead of intensity.
